My PC seems to start up normally, but I'm not getting a picture on the monitor.

If the computer boots up but the monitor remains black, the first thing to check is the video output, not the PC's internal components.

The most important point is the correct connection: the monitor cable should be connected to the dedicated graphics card, not to a video output on the motherboard. Also, you may need to manually set the correct input source in the monitor's OSD panel.

  • Connect the monitor cable to the dedicated graphics card.
  • Ensure the cables are fully plugged into both the PC and the monitor.
  • Select the correct input source on the monitor, e.g. DisplayPort, HDMI or USB-C. This can be adjusted using buttons on the edge of the monitor (often at the bottom right).
  • If possible, cross-check with a different cable or a different monitor.
