How can I open my PC chassis?

Many desktop PCs use cases with easily accessible side panels. For a simple visual inspection or to remove a transport lock, opening the left side panel is usually sufficient. Depending on the chassis, this can be done without tools or by removing a few screws at the rear.

The front, top or other covers usually only need to be opened if access to dust filters, fans or specific drives is required.

Before working inside the PC, shut it down completely, switch off the power switch on the AC adapter and unplug the power cable.
